The Social Series Ride format has been a great success and it is now time to start planning ahead for the next list of Ride Leaders.
If you would like to join the current list for Saturday rides could you please add your name and definite dates that you could do. We are OK up until the 16th August at the moment, so from the 23rd August to the 29th November! All you need to do is volunteer, make sure everyone knows the route and re-group points and direct sub-leaders to do the routes that you're not doing (3 routes 50,30 & GBITS). The routes are pre-planned, mapped for you and published online so that everyone knows where they are going.
Thank you to all those who have been ride leaders already, I hope you will do it again and I hope we can get some more volunteers too.
Cheers and I am looking forward to being inundated with replies!

Just to add to Caran's request for ride leaders if you have a route you wish to be added to the next schedule drop us a line with a link preferably map my ride.
Gbits riders as you are aware I have been handing the baton over to a one of you to ride lead under guidance in recent weeks now is your chance to volunteer and lead the Gbits rides as one of the nominated sub leaders
One last point the main ride leader can choose to lead any one of the 3 rides not just the long ride with sub leaders nominated for the other 2
Thank you
Alan

-Let's make sure that any new ride leaders know what the club expects of them in terms of ride responsibilities. Ensure they know who's with them, Remind riders of the "rules" Be prepared to look after new joiners, Check on membership, Maintain an inclusive pace and catch ups Ensure safe return of any who cannot complete ride, etc.
Can anyone locate the document from last year that outlined ride leaders expectations?
They need to know this: BC advice -the club indemnity insurance covers the club officers and the club in case of 3rd party liability, for the purpose of led rides, appointed ride leaders at club meetings assume the role of club officer for that appointed ride, and in such, are covered by the club indemnity insurance. Individuals coming out with the club prior to joining to try the rides are classed as invited riders, and are also covered by the insurance. Club members are to seek their own insurance cover via BC or alternative provider, membership from BC at each of the 3 levels of bronze, silver and gold offer varying levels of cover and benefits.

Hi Steve, this week should have been Paul Stead but he is on holiday so I am leading. Keith Wild has offered to lead the 20 mile ride. Next week is the final one of this set, with Cath Wightman leading.
I am in the process of writing up the next 12 weeks rides. Caran

Hi, I'm looking for a club to get me pedalling...your blogging has made me chuckle and I am interested in having a try...but I am inexperienced and slow...and a bit nervous...will I be ok? Sue

Hello Sue? You are very welcome to join us on Saturday 13th September for the Get Back in the Saddle ride. There will be a small group of riders who just enjoy a short ride at a slower pace. We all meet at Dave Ferguson's bike shop at 9.30am, the faster riders leave first and then the GBITS. They always go for a coffee after the ride. Come along, you'll be more than welcome and you'll be looked after all the way. Caran

Please check the ride leader lists to see when you are leading and where we will be going. If you can't view the document it may be something to do with the device you are trying to download it to. Good luck, let me know if you can't make your date asap please! Caran

Monday Night Rides
Here's the list for Jan - March 2015 If you can't do the date allocated or want to swap, please do so and let me know. Also, if there's an alternative route (that can easily be done on a dark Winter night) that you fancy, map it and send it to me on FB messenger. These routes are just a guide and can be changed to suit the weather etc.
Cheers guys, and thank you for continuing to support our regular rides.
