I should be ok for my date at the present, but work commitments change often at the last minute.

Monday Night Riders!!
It's happened, it's that time, time to put a set of lights on the bike for the evening rides.
Just a few tips: - check your batteries (I tried to use mine, it had run out)
- make sure they are properly secured (you don't want to lose one over a cattle grid )
- wear something bright; black is sleek, slimming and makes you look great but it's a bugger to see in the dark!
- it will start feeling chilly too so be prepared
See you on a Monday Night Ride soon!

I reckon bright vs black makes pretty much no difference in the dark - reflective is what you need. And consider several rear lights. A mate of mine was so well lit he had his turned each autumn on by a local minor celebrity after some majorettes had done a little dance.

There were several images to illustrate well-lit cyclists Andy! I know the colour makes no difference when it's dark but wearing brighter colours on these late Summer nights must be helpful, especially when you ride into a shaded area. The club's dark green jersey blends in far too well with shrubbery for my liking! Even riding in my Summer kit this evening I felt a bot invisible at times - and I had lights on too.
