The last club meeting minutes record that the suggested meeting up point in the public space behind Chevin Cycles was agreed as the alternative to DFs where riders should gather. I think safety of members and inconvenience to public should be uppermost in this consideration. The attributes of the area near the Mill Shop weren't discussed when we met and that area is potentially as problematic as outside DFs in my opinion, as club welfare officer! If 50 plus people turn up on a Saturday morning its a no brainer! As there is also a need for an amount of announcements and instructions we also need to be able to hear the ride leader and each other! Can ride organisers Edward, Caran and Alan give this matter urgent attention please? Thanks

Hi guys, Could you have a look at the document for the Sunday rides. I can't seem to open it, I get an Ooops message about not having permissions to edit when I click on the link. Thanks!

Sunday 25th May Ride Leader Iain Vokes-Tilley Almscliffe Crag
This is a 58 mile route that heads out over the gated road, on to Beamsley, Ilkley and Otley. Then there's lots of back roads to Almscliffe Crag. The Cockpit Farm cafe is open on Sundays if you need to stop! The route home takes you over Langbar (the easy side) and back down to Bolton Abbey. You can add some extra miles either by heading up the A59 and left onto the Storiths Road and through th Valley of Desolation on to Barden and back via Black Park! Or choose a flatter route? Just look out for potholes heading towards Barden on the Storiths road. Some of the roads were a little gravelly today on our ride, as the rain had washed 'stuff' onto them so take care

Caran - I dropped Alan a note on FB a few days ago and asked if you could take me off the Saturday list please - I'm on holiday in July, plus I'm not usually out with Skipton CC on Saturdays.
Looks a good system though - hope it works out ok!

A great turn out this Saturday despite the 'end of the world' weather forecast! We got a bit wet, then the sun poked through for a while and we dried off in time for lunch. A downpour while we were eating in Slaidburn turned into torrential rain, which was great fun on the way home. Absolutely cracking ride! Thanks to the fantastic 5 for carrying on, everyone else, cheers but you missed some great roads! No massive climbs but a very 'spikey' ride profile.

Saturday 2nd August 2014
This week all three Social rides will set off towards Hetton up Grassington Road. The plan was to go through Carleton but the Tough Mudder event is on and the road will be closed for the weekend. It will also be very busy along the A59 so we are avoiding it!
Come along and join us, there's a ride to suit all abilities and you will be encouraged and supported along the way. We regroup frequently so that nobody is left behind. All we ask is that your bike is roadworthy, you wear a helmet, carry a spare tube in case of a puncture and a few quid for your cafe stop. We are out whatever the weather! See you at Dave Ferguson's bike shop @ 9.30am.
