Hidden away amongst the garages and lockups of Engine Shed lane there is a small bike shop. Not your usual bike shop full of shiny trinkets and bikes but a very special bike shop.
Riders Cycle Centre
A big hello from me, Stuart Rider and yes, before you say anything that is my surname and not one changed by depol. I am the owner of Riders Cycle Centre on Engine Shed lane Skipton.
Some of you from SCC know me but some of you don't. Hello to those of you who don't and to those who do, pop by sometime for a chat. I get lonely down here by the rail tracks
I opened my shop back in April 2012. With a B&Q table and a suitcase full of tools I set upon building my empire. A bike shop with a difference.
"If you're a bike shop then why don't you sell bikes and parts" I hear you say. Good question. The internet is here to stay. Bike riders are becoming savvy customers and online discounts price bike shops out of the market and you know what. There are lots of really good shops out there selling great bikes. As for all those shiny new components, I can order and get delivery within 24hrs
"So what do you do and what services do you offer". Another great question.
I provide a dedicated cycle repair shop. I fix bikes and make them better.
I undertake race & ride prep. Frame and groupset swaps. Custom bike & wheel builds. Change a gear cable whilst you wait and I will even blow up your tyres for free
I'm here to help. With years of product knowledge, riding and racing you are warmly welcome to pop by and chat about new tyres or an online purchase. Think of me as your 118 of the bike industry. Free & friendly advice and a brew thrown in.
Lets not forget my Maintenance courses. With winter coming and the onset of gritting, those bikes need some tlc. My maintenance courses are tailored to your requirements. Click on the link for more info.
Please join me on Twitter and join our Facebook page. Please visit my website Riderscyclecentre.com where you can find out a bit more about my shop. I hope you enjoy a few of the videos (at the bottom of the page) and find some of my blog entries interesting and amusing.
Thank you for reading my forum post and I hope to see you sometime soon. If not then see you at the Christmas party.
